3 more sleeps until my first half marathon!

well I'm officially tapering and carbo loading... it's a nice phase to be in.... I get to eat all I want!!!! well .... not really.... I'm not entirely sure I should even carbo load for such a "short" race however I am "practicing" for Chicago so I shall do everything on Sunday as I will in October.

calling this race a Half marathon has been playing mind games with me so I have been referring to it as 13 miles. That for some reason seems less daunting. Craziness I know. but still. I've run 12.5 miles I can run 13 in a race, in peak condition.

So I've had plenty of time on my hands to think about what to do this weekend. To eat homemade pancakes or frozen waffles? To wear my longer Capri's or shorts Which shirt to wear? When to pick up my race packet? To carry hydration or to leave it to the race officials? When to eat my beans and when to drink Gatorade.... because both at the same time makes my stomach very unhappy.... There are so many technical decisions to make, it's so fun!!!!

I've also been remembering that last year it took me 90 mins to run 4 miles and this year I'm running 6 miles in 60 mins. This kind of progress is better then I really believed I could do! I'm wondering how much better I will be at goal weight and with a couple more years of running/training under my belt....
All in all I'm excited and nervous and to be honest a little twitchy from my lack of running.
