overtraining blues

Happy Easter everyone!
Well my training has been getting more and more difficult. In march I hurt my hip and only took one day off thinking 2 consecutive days off and new shoes to do the trick. However the pain in my right side has not gone away, it got easier to deal with for several weeks but yesterday it took all my will power to complete my 8 miler. Over the past few weeks it has been getting more and more difficult for me to hit my target pace and daily goals Sunday was glaringly difficult as the pain in my right hip extended to my right knee and I struggled to complete 8 miles. Now over training injuries are a real concern for me and I am grudgingly FORCED take a week off in.

I plan on either biking or using my elliptical all week off Monday and Friday to return on Sunday for my long distance 10 miles. I hope this break will allow for injury repair and allow additional time for stretching and icing my poor legs and hips.

So not a favorable update but an update all the same.
